Goodyear is pleased to announce that the tires they are supplying as original equipment for the C6 Corvette are changing to reflect a new and higher speed category. This change is indicated by the service description being listed in parenthesis ( ) on the sidewall of the tire. The tires effected by this change are the P245/40ZR18 front and P285/35ZR19 rear tires in the Eagle F1 SuperCar EMT and Eagle F1 GS-2 EMT tire lines and are listed in detail below:

Front tires:

P245/40ZR18 88Y changes to P245/40ZR18 (88Y) for both the Eagle F1 SuperCar EMT and Eagle F1 GS-2 EMT

Rear tires:

P285/35ZR19 90Y changes to P285/35ZR19 (90Y) for both the Eagle F1 SuperCar EMT and Eagle F1 GS-2 EMT

The "Y" speed certification without the parenthesis certified the tires to a maximum speed of 186 mph. The parenthesis mean that the tires are now certified to over 186 mph, with the actual top speed specified by the tire manufacturer. In the case of these 4 new tires, the top speed capability is 205 mph.
