⤝  ARTICLE VI - OFFICERS DUTIES  ⤞
SECTION 1:  DUTIES OF THE PRESIDENT
The President will preside at all meetings of the members and officers and will administer all Club activities. The President may call special meetings of members under the provisions of ARTICLE IV Section 5. The President will be the Chief Executive of the Club.
SECTION 2:  DUTIES OF THE VICE PRESIDENTS
In the absence of the President, or in the case of his resignation or inability to act, the duties usually pertaining to that office will be performed by one of the Vice Presidents chosen by the other Club officers. In the event it becomes necessary to replace the President, a vote will be taken among the Club officers to determine which Vice President will become President. Each Vice President will assist the President as requested in the administration of the Club, and will act as advisors in coordinating activities in their specific regions.
SECTION 3:  DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY
The Secretary will attend all meetings of the members and officers and will record the minutes and votes in a book kept for this purpose. The Secretary will have custody of the Club's records of the members' attendance and of points earned for the Member of the Year Competition. In the absence of the Secretary from any of the said meetings, the presiding officer will chose a Secretary pro tempore.  The Secretary will also provide reports at the quarterly meetings, as outlined in ARTICLE IV Section 4.
SECTION 4:  DUTIES OF THE TREASURER
The Treasurer will, subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be made by the officers, have custody of all Club monies, debts and obligations belonging to the Club. The Treasurer or any Club officer will be authorized to accept Club memberships or any other monies. Receipts will be issued to any person applying for membership and paying dues to any officer.

The Treasurer will keep up-to-date membership records.

The treasurer will create a yearly budget that will define the club expenditures for the fiscal year. This budget will be presented to the club membership at the March quarterly meeting and posted in the March - April Gazette. A simple majority vote of the Members present at the March meeting is required for approval of the yearly budget. Any expenditures outside the budget must be approved by the membership in accordance with ARTICLE IV, Section 6.

The Treasurer will receive all monies of the Club and deposit it into the Club bank account, and will make all payments of Club debts upon approval of the majority of the Club Officers. All contracts, checks, drafts, notes and other orders for payment of money will be signed in the name of the Club Treasurer and countersigned by the President or Vice President in Charge.

The Treasurer will give a report of the financial status of the Club at the quarterly meeting or published quarterly in the Club newsletter, as outlined in ARTICLE IV Section 4.

No obligation, debt or other liability will be incurred by the Treasurer without the specific approval of the majority of the officers and in accordance with the approved budget. Additionally, the following limits are placed to obligate Club monies for any expenditures outside the budget; (a) five hundred dollars ($500.00) by two-third (2/3) majority vote of the officers, (b) any expenditure exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) will be voted on at a monthly Club meeting in accordance with ARTICLE IV Section 6

In the absence of the Treasurer from any activity, the presiding officer will appoint a Treasurer pro tempore. Any monies collected will be turned over to the Treasurer at the first opportunity.
SECTION 5:  DUTIES OF THE EDITOR
The Editor will be responsible for assigning members to report on Club activities (including awards won and notify the Secretary), keeping a calendar of events and assembling the Club's newsletter at bimonthly intervals. The Editor will maintain communication with the President regarding the newsletter contents.

The club newsletter (Gazette) is published on the club website and can be downloaded in its entirety or individual pages by members when printed copies are desired. The editor will forward a final copy of the Gazette in a suitable format agreed to between the Club Editor and Club Webmaster for publication to the club website before the start of each bi-monthly period.
SECTION 6:   DUTIES OF THE HISTORIAN
The historian will be responsible for recording events of the Club and to keep a pictorial account of Club events; maintain a scrapbook in an orderly fashion to be the property of the Club; purchasing and developing film, scrapbook, supplies, etc., and will be reimbursed by the Club. If unable to attend a function, the Historian must designate an alternate to take pictures.
SECTION 7:  DUTIES OF THE MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
The Membership Chair will be in charge of recruiting all prospective Club members. It will be his/her responsibility to explain Club policies to prospective members. Responsibilities will also include assisting prospective members in the completion of membership applications and collecting initiation fees and dues. The Membership Chair will issue a membership packet containing a decal, membership cards, Club Bylaws, nametags and information leaflet. The Membership Chair will also introduce all new members to the Club as a whole, as well as to individual members. The Membership Chair will maintain a supply of nametags, window decals and supply of sewn patches.
SECTION 8:  DUTIES OF THE SPECIAL EVENTS CHAIR
The Special Events Chair will direct - in coordination with the Club officers - the selection and planning of all Club events which includes planning, coordination, and follow through. This person will coordinate formation of CCU member/officer teams to organize specific Club events. The Special Events Chair will coordinate fund-raising activities in support of the Club selected charity(s).
SECTION 9:  DUTIES OF THE NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AMBASSADOR
The National Corvette Museum Ambassador will be the communication link between the Corvette Club of Utah and the National Corvette Museum and must be a current member of the National Corvette Museum. The Ambassador will keep the members informed of Museum activities, events and Corvette enthusiast’s desires.

The Public Relations Ambassador is responsible for public promotion of the Corvette Club of Utah and the club's activities. With direction from, and with the knowledge of the Board of Officers, the NCM and Public Relations Ambassador is free to maintain contact with the various media sources. These sources may be, but are not limited to, newspapers, radio, television, magazines, as well as Corvette Clubs and associations in Utah and in other states.
SECTION 10:  DUTIES OF THE WEB MASTER
The Web Master will be responsible for the maintaining and updating of the Club's official website - www.corvetteclubofutah.org. Information on the website will be in harmony with the purpose of the Club. Information will be updated on a regular basis, giving Club members and prospective members current information about Club events and activities. The Web Master will keep Club officers informed of significant changes to the web page. The Web Master will be responsible for the official copy of the Club bylaws as outlined in ARTICLE X SECTION 2.
SECTION 11:  ASSUMPTION OF DUTIES
Another officer if necessary may assume any officer’s duties.
