| Description: | Come join us for a cheap weekend getaway as we explore roads less traveled and made for Corvette’s in North Eastern Utah. On Saturday, we will head for Malad City, ID for our members who like to buy lottery tickets. From there, we take the back roads to Montpelier, ID for lunch. We then head for The Fossil Butte National Monument with a stay overnight in Kemmerer, WY. On Sunday, we head home via Bear Lake and Logan Canyon with a stop for lunch at the Sonic Drive-In in Brigham City. Bob Requests that you utilize the 'Sign-Up button' above so he knows that you are coming and that he can create a 'Social List' for the participants. Saturday, Aug 14th - We depart from two locations. 8:00 AM - SLC and South Members depart from Smith’s, 665 W 5300 S in Murray. 9:00 AM - We pickup North Members at Flying J, 600 UT-315 N in Willard. You will need your National Park Pass for Fossil Butte National Monument. We will probably be arriving in Kemmerer early enough to eat an early dinner and gas up before we check into the hotel. We will be staying at the Best Western Plus Fossil Country Inn & Suites, 760 Highway 189/30, Kemmerer, WY. You can make your reservation by calling them at (307) 877-3388 or on the bestwestern.com website. The AAA or Senior rate for 2 Queen Beds or 1 King Bed is $125.99 a night ($134.63 after taxes). Breakfast is included. These are early booking rates and may go up if you procrastinate reserving a room. Sunday, Aug 15th We will be coming home past Bear Lake and down Logan Canyon. We will eat lunch and say our goodbye’s in Brigham City at the Sonic Drive-In by Walmart. Should be home early afternoon. Hopefully COVID-19 Restrictions will be over. This has been planned as a COVID safe trip so I won’t have to cancel it with no planned group dinners at restaurants. Please bring your face coverings because they may be required at Visitor Centers and when we stop to socialize. |
