Backdoor Hints and Tips
If you are lucky enough to volunteer or to be volunteered to be Backdoor on a club
cruise, here are some tips that may be useful.
Keep the leader informed.
For example:
All cars are out of the parking lot.
All cars have made a turn.
All cars are on the freeway (hopefully in the right direction).
When the group gets split up like at a stoplight.
If the group does get split, make sure the split off group gets on the right
route. (The Backdoor should get with the leader so they know the route)
When all cars have cleared a stoplight or stop sign.
When all cars have cleared an obstruction.
When all cars have passed a slower vehicle, especially on 2 lane roads.
If someone pulls over. You should pull over with them and make sure they are
OK. Stay with them unless they give you assurance that they will be OK.
(Catching up with the group is always fun).
Remember most, or all of have radios, don’t be afraid to use them to keep the
other members of the group informed..
